How to revamp your restaurant interior design?

How to revamp your restaurant interior design?

There are many aspects to restaurant interior design that often go unnoticed by a layperson. The restaurant design plays a major role to invite the kind of customers it is catering to and encouraging them to visit often. Here are a few points to consider while revamping your restaurant interior design

Setting the Narrative right

A restaurant should have an identity of its own. You need to decide on a theme and stick to it while choosing the color scheme, paintings, furniture, and cutlery, for that matter. For example, a restaurant serving Italian food might go well with Palladian flooring, copper pans, and so on.

Space Allotment

If your restaurant barely has space to walk around, guests will likely get frustrated. Only 60% of the area should have seating space, while 40% should go to the restrooms and the kitchen area. There should be around 20 feet spacing between tables in a fine dining restaurant while the fast-food joints can go with a 10 feet space in between.

Server Stations

If you want to go with a server station, it is better to install it somewhere in the center of the dining area instead of somewhere near the restroom, which is bound to have heavy foot traffic.

Restroom location

It is advisable to have restrooms located away from the kitchen. Apart from the hygiene factor, there will be operational hindrances to the staff trying to serve their customers in the minimum possible time duration.

Lighting

Lighting will have to be altered depending on the time of the day it is. A bright light is favorable during the daytime, while a soft, cozy light might be all that your guests need during dinner time. Soothing music and warm colors are often associated with relaxation and might encourage your guests to order that extra cup of coffee, wine, or dessert.

Entrance

Having a wide entrance for your restaurant is always recommended. It ensures that guests who are entering and leaving the space will not topple over each other. Having savories displayed around the entrance is also a wise idea to give a nice feel to the guests entering the area.

Other than these, you might consider the kind of seating you want. For a fine dining restaurant, you must have a comfortable seating space, whereas you might want to go for a less comfortable seating if you are serving fast food to ensure a quick turnover.
